1. Agreement to these Terms

By accessing our website, creating an account, contacting us, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies or notices shown during checkout.

If you are placing an order on behalf of a company, client, organization, or MSP customer, you confirm that you have authority to place the order and provide the relevant business, customer, or licensee details.

References to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean RDS CAL Store. References to “you” mean the person, company, organization, MSP, consultant, or customer using the website or placing an order.

3. Products, license use and Microsoft terms

RDS CAL Store sells Microsoft Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses for Windows Server Remote Desktop Services deployments. Products may be offered by server version, CAL type, and pack size.

RDS CALs are access licenses

RDS CALs license user or device access to Remote Desktop Services. They do not include a Windows Server operating system license, server installation, hosting, hardware, remote desktop server configuration, or any other software not expressly listed on the product page.

User CALs and Device CALs

You are responsible for selecting the correct CAL type for your deployment. User CALs are generally used when licensing named users. Device CALs are generally used when licensing specific computers, terminals, shared workstations, or fixed devices.

Version and downgrade rights

Higher-version RDS CALs may include downgrade rights for earlier supported Windows Server RDS deployments. For example, Windows Server 2025 RDS CALs can be used with Windows Server 2025, 2022, 2019, and 2016 RDS environments. Older RDS CALs cannot be used with newer Windows Server versions.

Microsoft license terms

Your use of Microsoft products, software, and licenses may also be subject to applicable Microsoft license terms, product terms, and technical requirements. Microsoft, Windows Server, and Remote Desktop Services are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. RDS CAL Store is an independent license supplier and is not Microsoft.

4. Orders, pricing and payments

By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and authorized. We may request additional information if needed to process, verify, support, or protect an order.

Order acceptance

Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance. We may decline, cancel, or hold an order for review where there are payment issues, suspected fraud, incorrect information, product availability issues, pricing errors, compliance concerns, or other reasonable business reasons.

Pricing and availability

Prices, product availability, pack sizes, and product descriptions may change from time to time. We try to keep information accurate, but errors may occur. If a material pricing or product error affects your order, we may contact you to correct the issue, cancel the order, or offer an alternative.

Taxes and charges

You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, bank fees, currency conversion fees, payment provider fees, or other charges that may apply to your order, unless they are expressly included at checkout.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not intentionally store full card numbers on our website. Payment confirmation, transaction IDs, fraud checks, and payment status may be processed by the relevant payment provider.

5. Fast digital delivery, license details and customer accounts

Products are delivered digitally. After successful checkout and order processing, your license details, order information, and setup guidance are delivered by email within 15 minutes after successful checkout. A copy may also be available in your account dashboard under Order Summary.

Email delivery

Order, account, license, and support emails are sent to the email address provided during checkout. You are responsible for providing the correct email address and checking spam, junk, or security filters if an expected email is not received.

Customer account

An account may be created automatically after purchase so you can access and download your license details later, view order details, and manage eligible CAL changes from your Order Summary or customer dashboard. Login details or account access instructions may be sent by email.

Licensee details

Please enter accurate business, customer, or licensee details at checkout. These details may be used for order records, license document preparation, support, and future order verification.

Accurate checkout and licensee details help us prepare clear order records and provide faster support if you contact us after purchase.

6. Installation support and 60-Day Purchase Protection

Your purchase includes license installation support from our technical team. Support is intended to help with practical license installation or licensing configuration questions related to the RDS CALs purchased from us.

60-Day Purchase Protection refund guarantee

If a licensing configuration issue cannot be resolved successfully after reasonable support steps, eligible orders are protected by our 60-Day Purchase Protection refund guarantee.

To help us resolve an issue, we may ask for reasonable information such as the Windows Server version, CAL type, error message, screenshot, deployment details, order number, or confirmation that the license has not been successfully used in production.

What the protection is designed for

The protection is designed for qualifying delivery, license installation, or licensing configuration issues connected to an eligible order purchased from RDS CAL Store. It is not intended to replace correct product selection, customer-side server administration, unsupported infrastructure remediation, or broader Microsoft environment consulting.

Support limitations

Unless expressly agreed in writing, installation support does not include server build-out, Active Directory design, full RDS farm architecture, network troubleshooting, security hardening, third-party software setup, cloud platform administration, or on-site support.

7. Exchanges, refunds and order corrections

60-Day Exchange Option

If you purchase the wrong server version or need to switch between User and Device CALs, you can exchange eligible unactivated licenses from your account dashboard within 60 days of purchase. Go to your order summary, choose the correct product, and pay any applicable price difference.

Once an exchange is completed, the original license key is permanently blacklisted to prevent unauthorized use.

Refund requests

Refund requests are reviewed under our 60-Day Purchase Protection terms, applicable consumer rights, and the specific facts of the order. Because RDS CALs are digitally delivered license products, refund eligibility may depend on factors such as delivery status, whether the license has been used or activated, the nature of the issue, and whether support has had a reasonable opportunity to help resolve the matter.

Incorrect information

If incorrect checkout, email, business, licensee, or order information is provided, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to assist where practical, but we cannot guarantee changes once delivery, license document preparation, exchange, blacklisting, or order processing has already occurred.

Situation Typical option Important note
Wrong CAL type or server version purchased Eligible 60-day exchange Applies to eligible unactivated licenses; price difference may apply.
Delivery or license detail access issue Support review and resolution Check account dashboard, Order Summary, order emails, and spam/junk folders first.
Licensing configuration issue Technical installation support If unresolved after reasonable support steps, eligible orders may be covered by 60-Day Purchase Protection.
Activated or used license Reviewed case by case Refund or exchange eligibility may be limited once a license is activated or used.

8. Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that the product you purchase matches your deployment, licensing needs, server version, CAL type, quantity, and technical environment.

  • Confirm whether you need User CALs or Device CALs before ordering.
  • Confirm the Windows Server RDS version you need to license.
  • Provide accurate billing, contact, order, business, and licensee details.
  • Maintain access to the email address used for checkout.
  • Keep license details, order records, and account details secure.
  • Use the licenses only in accordance with applicable Microsoft license terms and supported Windows Server RDS requirements.
  • Do not resell, share, copy, publish, misuse, or transfer license details except where permitted by applicable license terms and law.

Special procurement or centralized licensing workflows

Standard RD Licensing Manager deployments can purchase directly through the website. If your organization requires VLSC workflows, centralized licensing portals, audit review, or special procurement handling, contact us before purchasing so we can confirm the right license format for your setup.

9. Website use, accounts and acceptable behaviour

You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with checkout or account systems, attempt unauthorized access, submit false information, abuse support channels, scrape content, bypass security controls, or use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure and for activity that occurs through your account. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or order information has been accessed without permission.

Website content and intellectual property

Website content, text, layout, images, design elements, guides, and branding are owned by RDS CAL Store or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse website content for commercial purposes without written permission.

Third-party services and links

Our website may use or link to third-party services such as payment providers, security tools, email providers, video platforms, analytics tools, or support systems. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control.

10. Liability, disclaimers and legal terms

No exclusion of non-excludable rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights, remedies, warranties, or liabilities that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including statutory consumer rights where they apply.

Business use and technical environments

RDS CALs are technical licensing products used in Windows Server Remote Desktop Services environments. We are not responsible for customer-side infrastructure issues, unsupported server environments, incorrect CAL type selection, third-party software issues, cloud provider issues, network issues, security policy restrictions, or Microsoft environment misconfiguration that is not caused by the license supplied by us.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for the affected product in that order. We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, business interruption, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or consequential losses, except where the law does not allow such limitation.

Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, including payment provider outages, hosting failures, cyberattacks, internet outages, supplier delays, legal restrictions, natural events, or other disruptions beyond our control.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer laws in your country or region provide otherwise. Courts or dispute bodies with appropriate jurisdiction may apply depending on your location and the nature of the dispute.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Terms in force at the time of purchase generally apply to that purchase unless a change is required by law or is clearly beneficial to the customer.
